ROSE Foundation

Wen Giving supports a revolutionary approach to cervical screening. To combat very low rates of pap smear testing in Malaysia, Program ROSE (Removing Obstacles to cervical ScrEening) allows women to collect their own sample for cervical cancer screening.

Program ROSE sends the samples for Human Papilloma Virus testing (the virus that can cause cervical cancer) and test results are sent directly to the woman’s mobile phone within a week. Program ROSE provides women with greater comfort and privacy, while empowering them to take active steps in their own healthcare.

ROSE Foundation was established in 2019 by Prof. Dr Woo Yin Ling who is also Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at University Malaya Medical Centre.

Wen Giving funded the establishment of the ROSE Laboratory, accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) and is underpinned by the same cutting-edge technologies and stringent standards used by the Australian National Cervical Screening Programme.
