Alzheimer’s Disease Research

Wen Giving =supports the Curtin Health Innovation Research Institute (CHIRI), funding a clinical trial of CHIRI’s Probucol in Alzheimer’s Disease study, based on research led by Professor John Mamo. The trial is testing a potential new treatment that may suppress the leakage of small molecules in the blood that are damaging to brain capillaries and may be associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The new treatment may protect these capillaries and improve memory and cognitive function.

CHIRI has an “adults-only” research focused on preventing and developing new treatments for diseases that commonly occur with older age. CHIRI’s researchers, supported by Wen Giving, work across four key areas: vascular and metabolic disorders, immune disorders, neurological disorders and cancer.
